ADAVB BOQ Specialist Recent Graduate Bursary

Supporting the professional development of young dentists

The Australian Dental Association Victorian Branch (ADAVB) and BOQ Specialist have launched a new Recent Graduate CPD Bursary to recognise the commitment of early career dentists to ongoing learning by contributing $5,000 towards ADAVB professional development courses for one ADAVB recent graduate member.

About the Bursary

The ADAVB BOQ Specialist Recent Graduate Bursary will support the career growth of a young dentist through financial support for continuing education courses.

The bursary recognises a recent graduate who demonstrates a commitment to high quality ongoing professional development.

The bursary is open to any current ADAVB member who completed their studies in the years 2011-2018, and is not serving a current term in office on the ADAVB Council or Standing Committees.

The bursary is for $5,000 to be spent on courses at ADAVB for professional development between September 2019 and September 2021.

A practitioner can only submit one application per year. Any practitioner who receives this bursary cannot apply again.

All correctly completed applications will be assessed and reviewed by the bursary panel, comprising of the ADAVB President, Vice President and CEO.

The bursary will be presented to the successful candidate at an ADAVB Annual Award Ceremony on Friday 10 August 2019.

The practitioner who receives this bursary will be profiled in relevant ADAVB and BOQ Specialist publications, websites and social media.

Elegibility criteria

Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Applicants must be current ADAVB members
  • Applicants must have a CPD log of activities undertaken in the last two years, or since graduation if less than two years
  • Must not be serving a current term of office in the ADAVB Council or Standing Committees.

The ADAVB BOQ Specialist Recent Graduate Bursary consists of four sections:

  • Section 1: Personal and practice details
  • Section 2: Personal career and CPD plan
  • Section 3: Dental Practice CPD log
  • Section 4: Declaration
